Mid Century Vintage Teak Ladderax Vinyl Storage Shelving System with original metal gold/bronze ladders. Designed by Robert Heal in 1962 for Staples of Cricklewood and retailed through Heals London. Multi functional system comprising 2 shelves, Open Storage Unit with glass shelf and sliding glass doors (not shown) and a Vinyl Storage Unit with drop down door and original lock and key. Excellent vintage condition throughout with no damage or repairs to note the teak has a nice even tone and grain. The drawers run as they should and have the original handles which are in perfect condition. The Vinyl Unit has a sectional interior for storage of Vinyl and a sturdy drop down ledge, this locks with the original key. The open storage unit positioned at the top has the original glass shelf and doors which are all in perfect condition. The shelf can be fixed at 3 positions to suit requirements. The ladder frames are also in excellent condition and have the original feet which can be levelled to account for uneven floors. All the components can be placed at desired intervals across the height of the ladders and fix into place with metal rods which sit on the ladder frames and slot into pre drilled grooves on the underside of each shelf and unit. The Vinyl Unit has the original brass hooks to fix to the ladders for extra sturdiness if the drop down ledge is used for a turntable, they are small brass hooks which attach to the metal ladder frames and fit into pre drilled holes in the side of the unit. There are pre drilled holes to the back edge of the ladders enabling it to screw to the wall however the system is sturdy and solid so not absolutely necessary. The Vinyl Unit could easily be re-purposed as a Desk Bureau and could be set at the desired height. H 201 x W 94 x D 41 cm. Shelves – W 89 x D 36 cm.
